Chennai Super Kings (CSK) take first place when they take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match at MA Chidambaram Stadium. After losing their first match against the Gujarat Titans, CSK have taken the win in their last two matches and are looking to do so in three trot matches with a win over RR in front of their fans. With stars Deepak Chahar and Ben Stokes sidelined with injuries, CSK will rely heavily on their spinners. Ravindra Jadeha was an outstanding ball player for CSK in their last match when he turned the game on its head. Ahead of the RR game, here’s what we think could be in the CSK game for XI:
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway will open the game while Ajinkya Rahane, who scored fifty on his debut, is expected to take third place.
While Ruthuraj hit 189 runs in three innings, Conway looked like a shadow of the player he was last season. Meanwhile, Rahane will add much-needed balance to the higher order.
In the middle rankings, Ambati Rayud and Shivam Dube will be joined by Jadeja and Dhoni who will lead CSK for the 200th time in the IPL. In addition, CSK has Moin Ali at its disposal.
Dwayne Pretorius will replace the injured Stokes and add some firepower to CSK which can be a concern at times.
Given the conditions in which Chepauk operates, CSK will most likely play Mahish Tikshana rather than Sisanda Magala.
Tushar Deshpande will lead the attack in the absence of Deepak Chahar, who is likely to be replaced by Rajwardhan Khangargekar.
