OST files are extremely sensitive file formats. Moving or opening an OST file on a different computer or system is probably quite difficult. The particular user account, system, or computer to which your Microsoft Outlook account has been attached is linked to the OST file. As a result, you cannot simply move or access an OST file on another machine. However, you can move or open the OST file after converting it to PST file type.
Several scenarios may arise when transferring or opening OST files on a separate computer:

Situation 1 – For those of you who use Microsoft Outlook
First, on your outdated PC, save mail messages in PST format.
Here’s how to save PST files in format –
- Launch an Outlook account on Microsoft select Export to a file >> Outlook data file (.pst) >> select
- Export file folder >> after choosing File.
- Then, click Open & Export >> Import & Export.
- Complete (verify your.pst file in the folder you saved it to)
Now that you have data in PST file format, move the PST file to any hard drive connected to your previous system. Additionally, you can use a drive (such as a pen drive or hard disk) to move or load these PST files into your new machine.
Using the same user ID and password, you may set up or sync your Microsoft Outlook account on a different computer, export all of your PST files, and log in.
The disadvantage of this situation is that to use this method, your ID must be activated; otherwise, you cannot.
Situation – 2 – If you do not have a Microsoft Outlook account and you only have an OST file
If, in this scenario, all you have are OST files that you need to move, transfer, or open on your new system, software will be needed. The OST file will become damaged or orphaned if you attempt to move it.
In other words, software is a must if you wish to see or open your OST file; an OST file cannot be viewed without it. The ability to view an OST file manually does not exist.
