Payser Sandeep Sharma’s latest spell led his Rajasthan Royals to their third Indian Premier League (IPL) win this season against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After 21 defense attempts against the duo of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, Sandeep said he worked with a speed bowling coach and Lasith Malinga, a crushing yorker delivery specialist, in the death over nets and it helped him.
Speaking to Malinga, Sandeep thanked him for his success in death overs in the latest video posted by the IPL handle on Twitter. “I’ve worked with him (Malinga) on the Yorkies and it’s coming out well,” Sandeep said in the video.

In a stubborn head-to-head match between CSK and RR, which went to the last. It took CSK 21 runs to win. However, Sandeep’s final two goals from the Yorkers kept CSK from crossing the chase by 3 points. Even after Dhoni’s dangerous unbeaten shot, with a score of 32 out of 17 goals, CSK lost their second match of the tournament.
“The ball that Mahi Bhai hit was a difficult ball. If someone else was facing the ball, they wouldn’t be able to hit it. I think I hit it well and it’s always nice to be on the right side.” Sandip added.
Coach RR Malinga seemed pleased with the pacer’s bowling performance. He was also proud that Sandeep delivered several Yorkies to Dhoni, whom he also failed to hit.
Lasit Malinga said, “I’m very pleased with (Sandeep’s performance) and I hope he gets better.”
Chasing 176, Dhoni (32 of 17 balls) and Ravindra Jadeha (25 of 15 balls), the veterans of many such tantalizing finishes were on the right track as 21 were required after the last over.
The final CSK score was 172 out of 6 as Dhoni did not finish his 200th game for CSK the way he would have liked in his spiritual home with over 30,000 spectators cheering for him.
