Led by Aiden Markram, the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) win in a row when they take on the high-flying Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Friday. SRH is strong on paper after several big buys like Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klaasen at auction. Emboldened by the win, the 2016 champions will be looking to maintain their winning momentum and give KKR a strong fight at home. However, with just one win in three matches, SRH weren’t at the top of their game.
Here’s what we think could be SRH’s XI vs. KKR:
Harry Brooke was bought by SRH for a hefty sum, but the English striker hasn’t made it to his full potential yet. He opened the batting in the previous match but failed (13 of 14).
However, management will most likely support him for one more game. He will open the game with Mayank Agarwal, who scored 21 of 20 goals in the previous match.
Rahul Tripathi will play with his former team, playing the role of a pitch holder in the middle of the over. A tripati is someone who can alternate punches in the middle of an over and strike back.
In the middle detachment, Captain Markram will be joined by fellow South African Heinrich Klaasen. Markram hit a fast 37 off 21 against PBKS and is hoping to play even better this time.
SRH also has a powerful spinning attack in Washington Sundar and Mayank Markand just past 4/15 against the Punjab Kings while a tempo attack led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco Jansen will give KKR a tough fight.
Umran Malik and experienced Ti Natarajan will add even more firepower to their tempo bowling.
SRH predicted XI against KKRCast: Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (C), Heinrich Klaasen, Wesington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Umran Malik, T. Natarajan
