After beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) three times in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sangju Samson said the last two overs during the run chase were tight and the team is “never safe with MS Dhoni” as “nothing works against him”. The tight match ended in dramatic fashion as Sandeep Sharma narrowly managed to defend 21 runs in the final and RR took a 3 run win over CSK at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.
“You have to give credit to the guys. The bowlers kept their cool at the end and pitched very well, we also held on to our catch. I don’t have very good memories of Chepauk, I never won here and wanted to win today. the ball was exciting and consequently we brought in Zampa as a striker. We had a good powerplay with Rutu coming in and the thought was if we can go out on the powerplay without giving away too much then we have there are spinners to do the job.
The last two overs were tight, I was trying to go deeper, but “That guy” (Dhoni) is never safe. You have to respect this guy and what he can do. Nothing works against him,” Samson said during the post-match presentation.
With this victory, RR became the leader of the table, having won three matches out of four. They have six points in total. CSK is in fifth place with two wins and two losses, as well as four points.
