The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is a cricket tournament that brings together the best minds in cricket. The world’s most expensive cricket tournament has generated widespread interest from leading stars over the past decade and a half. While Indian cricketers are the centerpieces of the money-rich league, the foreign talent on the show is also amazing. It’s not just about the players, cricket legends like Brian Lara, Surav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar are associated with various franchises. The great Australian Ricky Ponting is the coach of the Delhi Capitals franchise. Ponting recently took on RCB and Indian star Virat Kohli on the sidelines of the tournament. Their meeting was joined by another special person, Fletcher William Ponting – Ricky’s son.
In a video posted by Delhi Capitals on social media, young Ponting can be seen utterly amazed when Kohli talks to Ponting. He is even pushed by his legendary father to greet Kohli at the beginning of the video.

In December 2022, Kohli surpassed Ponting on the list of batters with the most international centuries after racking up his 44th ODI ton in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram. He now trails only the great Sachin Tendulkar (100) on the list of batters with the most international hundreds.
This century was special for Kohli as it came after a huge gap of more than three years. Kohli, who fell off badly in form last year, made a comeback in T20 format when he won his first T20I century at the Asian Cup and finished the 2022 ICC T20 World Championship as the best player.
