Rajasthan Royals will play Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming IPL 2023 match on Wednesday at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Rajasthan Royals will come to this clash after crushing Delhi Capitals by 57 points in their previous clash. During the last few matches, batsman Riyan Parag has been criticized for underperforming. Since Druv Jurel proved his worth with a brilliant bat show, it will be interesting to see if the team management goes with him instead of Riyan.
The dynamic pairing of Jos Battler and Yashasvi Jaiswal playing in the first match of the Rajasthan Royals will face a quality “spin test” on the challenging Chepauk pitch as they face some world-class short-format tweakers as part of CSK.
The England white-ball captain and his young Indian partner both scored a couple of half-centuries each, and that too at healthy hit rates of 180.95 for Battler and 164.47 for Jaiswal.
But of the three games the royals have played so far, two have been in Guwahati, which has been the flattest deck of any location. The track at Hyderabad was also heavily loaded in favor of the batters.
And suddenly they arrive in Chennai, where the ball can catch on the ball and also become slower as the match progresses. Throwing is always a big factor in Chennai as chasing anything over 170-175 can be risky business.
RR XI Prediction vs CSK:Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Battler, Sanju Samson (c/week), Devdutt Padikkal, Druv Jurel/Ryan Parag, Shimron Hetmayer, Jason Holder, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, K. M. Asif, Yuzvendra Chahal.
