The Indian cricket team’s new jersey design was unveiled on Thursday night. The shirt was designed by Adidas, the sponsor of the new kit. This time in India there will be completely different T-shirt designs for ODI and T20I. The Indian men’s cricket team will be wearing the new jersey design starting with the World Testing Cup final against Australia starting on June 7 at The Oval. All jerseys have three stripes, which is related to the sponsors of the new Adidas uniform.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) last month announced Adidas as the kit sponsor for BCCI. “The contract, which runs until March 2028, gives adidas exclusive rights to produce kits for all game formats. Adidas will be the sole supplier of all sportswear, training and roadwear for BCCI, including the men’s, women’s and youth teams. Starting in June 2023, the Indian national team will feature three stripes for the first time and will present their new kit during the World Testing Championship Final,” the BCCI said in a statement.
Speaking about the partnership, Jay Shah, BCCI Honorary Secretary, said: “We are committed to helping develop the game of cricket and are thrilled to be partnering with one of the world’s leading sportswear brands, adidas, on this journey. With a rich heritage in the sport, world-class products and a broad global reach, adidas will play a major role in enhancing the performance and future success of Indian cricket’s various categories.”
In addition to the men’s and women’s senior national cricket team, adidas will also equip the India Men’s and Women’s A Team, the India Men’s and Women’s B Team, the India Men’s and Women’s Under-19 Team, their coaches, and staff.
