The Lucknow Super Giants will play the Punjab Kings at the Ekan Cricket Ground on Saturday. KL Rahula have won their last two games and another win on Saturday will take them to the top of the IPL standings. While skipper Rahul has struggled with his strike frequency so far, the super giants have found new heroes to bring the team home. If Krunal Pandya put on an all-around show against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the breathtaking 19-ball 62 West Indian Nicholas Puran helped them chase a tight 212 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last match.
LSG has a balanced batting lineup, with rookie Kyle Myers producing goods in the first two matches, while the lower mid-range made up of Markus Stoinis, Puran and Ayush Badoni showed they could win in decisive games the other day.
So far, however, Deepak Huda has failed.
The loss of three powerplay wickets almost jeopardized their RCB chase and LSG is hoping it was just an aberration.
Among bowlers, they have a good mix of pace and spin. While Mark Wood and Avesh Khan looked good, leg twister Ravi Bishnoy, leggy veteran Amit Mishra and Krunal Pandya also shone in their roles.
Kyle Myers has suffered multiple setbacks, but the LSG is expected to back him up. This means that Quinton de Kock will likely continue to play on the bench.
