Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja believes the just-completed Indian Premier League (IPL) season will be remembered by MS Dhoni. Earlier this week, Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings defeated the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 IPL final, which was played on a reserve day for the first time in the tournament’s rich history. Recalling some of the highlights of the season, Raja pointed to an incident involving Sunil Gavaskar and Dhoni. During CSK’s last home game of the season, Gavaskar’s jersey was signed by Dhoni.
“This IPL will be remembered for yellow and MS Dhoni. His humility, Dhonimania, his captaincy, his calmness and his observance will be remembered for centuries. But most of all, this IPL will be remembered for the moment. when a legend like Sunil Gavascar asked M.S. Dhoni sign an autograph on his shirt. There can’t be a bigger addition for M.S. Dhoni. Speaking further about IPL 2023, Raja called the 16th edition of the tournament the greatest season ever.
“The season will also be remembered for the big names that have been on the bench and the players from smaller countries who have had great success. The fact that even if you have big names in the dugout coaching staff, there is no guarantee of success for the team. This IPL will be remembered by fans for great hits and catches.
