Former Pakistan captain Waseem Akram praised Chennai Super Kings (CSK) striker Ruthuraj Gaikwad, saying the 26-year-old has a bright future. Gaikwad finished another successful season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a total of 590 runs. In the 2023 IPL final against the Gujarat Titans, Gaikwad made a quick shot of 26 to give his team a quick start in the big chase. With his consistent performances in the IPL as well as on the domestic circuits, Akram believes that Gaikwad is a huge prospect for the Indian team in the future.
“He showed great performance under pressure. His advantage is that he is physically in very good shape. He is a very good field player and also young. franchises he plays for,” Akram told Sportskeeda.
