Nicholas Puran caught fire on Monday. With his Lucknow Super Giants team chasing a massive 213 run goal against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Puran took it upon himself to strengthen his team. He entered the fight in 11th with LSG at 99/4. After just the second ball he faced, Puran hit a huge six off RCB spinner Karn Sharma. This was just the beginning. He hit five more sixes to reach the 50-run mark in just 15 balls, the second most of fifty in IPL history. He reached 50 in the 15th over and eventually left in the 17th over. He finished with a score of 62, for a total of 19 goals. [4s-4 6s-7] and his strike percentage was an astounding 326.32. This is the fourth highest SR in IPL innings (50+ runs).
Nicolas Puran scored 62 goals from just 19 balls (4×4, 7×6) while Markus Stoinis scored 65 goals from 30 balls (6×4, 5×6). Chinnaswami Stadium in Bangalore in a 2023 IPL league match. That being said, Puran of the West Indies also posted their best record in half a century this season, scoring just 15 goals. Speaking at JioCinema, England captain and World Cup winner Eoin Morgan was impressed with Puran’s performance, saying: “He has such fast hands. Watching him in full force is a pleasure. He received huge awards in this stadium tonight.”
