Harry Brook has indeed drawn the wrath of Indian fans, whose opinions of players are as fickle as the English weather, but he’s happy that his first 100 IPLs will shut them up forever. After scoring 29 goals in three games, Brook came up with his own tally of 100 unbeaten matches with 55 balls to secure a 23-streak victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders in Friday’s IPL matchup. “I put a little pressure on myself. You go on social media and people call you trash. There are a lot of Indian fans there who will say that I am doing great tonight. But they scolded me a few days ago. I’m glad I was able to shut them up, to be honest,” Brook said after the match.
Although he predictably rated his three test hundreds over a ton of IPL, he was satisfied to make it to the milestone with his girlfriend in the stands.
“My four test hundreds should be above that,” he said.
It was a “special night” and Brook insisted he could hit from any position.
“It was a special night. Fortunately, we also crossed the line. A little tight in the middle. A lot of people say that opening batting at T20 is the best time to play.
“I’m happy to hit anywhere. I’ve had great success batting at five. Made my name there. The crowd today was phenomenal. I liked it,” Brook said.
