India and Chennai Super Kings striker Ruthuraj Gaikwad tied the knot on Saturday with his longtime girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar. Gaikwad, who had a brilliant 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season with Chennai Super Kings, played a key role in the team’s fifth title. Following the conclusion of the season, the young rookie was scheduled to join the Indian team as a substitute for the World Testing Finals. But he turned down the five-day event to get married.

Like Gaikwad, Utakarsha also plays cricket from Maharashtra. She was recently spotted alongside Ruthuraj at the CSK title celebration in Ahmedabad after the franchise beat the Gujarat Titans to lift the IPL title for a record 5th time.
Among the CSK players who attended the Gaikwad wedding ceremony were Shivam Dube and Prashant Solanki.
Some other famous cricketers such as Shikhar Dhawan, Rashid Khan, Shreyas Iyer and Umran Malik congratulated the newlyweds on social media.
Ruthurai was one of the stars of the IPL 2023 campaign, forging an important partnership with fellow rookie Devon Conway. In 16 matches, Gaikwad scored 590 runs with an average of 42.14. He also won four half-centuries in the tournament with a best score of 92.
In his IPL career since his debut for CSK since 2019, he has hit 1,797 runs at an average of 39.07 and a goal ratio of 135.52. He scored one century and 14 fifties, with a best score of 101*.
He played 9 T20Is for India in which he scored 135 runs with one fifty. He also represented India in one ODI in which he scored 19 points.
