There are only a few days left before the start of the ICC World Test Championship finals. With India and Australia in the decider, the matchup is expected to be nothing more than a belt. As the countdown to the final at the Oval ticks on, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has praised Indian hardy Virat Kohli, who has a reputation for playing very well against the Aussies. When it comes to big events, Kohli more often than not manages to take the right step forward. Green duly acknowledged Kohli’s will and intention to succeed.
In a conversation with the ICC before the start of the World Testing Championship final, Greene gave Kohli a lot of praise, suggesting that the iconic Indian striker always strives to be the person to stand up and perform when it matters most.
Virat Kohli. I think he always tries to be a person who gets on his feet at important moments,” said Green. “The World Testing Championship is definitely a big moment, so I’m looking forward to it.”
Green was part of the Mumbai Indians team that took a deep dive into the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Mumbai were eliminated from Qualifier 2 by the Gujarat Titans and Green played a key role in the franchise securing a finish that is high this season.
Now, however, the all-rounder needs to quickly turn his attention from T20 to Test cricket.
“There’s nothing better than test cricket when you’re somewhere in between,” said Green. “Obviously, your nerves are on edge. I think the best players are the ones who can handle it.”
Green has had some good White outings for Australia lately, including a five-wicket run on Boxing Day, after which he scored a bat in the first Test hundred.
In fairness, it should be said that the dough is highly regarded not only in Australia, but also in the Indian team.
