It’s hard to pick subclasses in Destiny 2. There are three types for Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters. Each has its own supers, powers, and perks.
Each class in Destiny 2 has a number of subclasses, each with its own special skills and powers. Picking the best class is hard enough, but picking the right subclass for a character is even harder. It’s important to pick a type that fits the way you like to play because each one has its own pros and cons.
Once a player unlocks a subclass, they can switch between them at any time, but it’s still helpful to know when to use each one. Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters each have three subclasses. The superpowers, skills, and perks that each subtype has are useful in different ways.
Titan: Berserker
Since the DLC for Lightfall came out, players have been able to try out a brand-new Darkness character called Strand. It’s very strong in all three classes, but some players say the Berserker Titans may have it the worst.
The Titan’s Bladefury Super, on the other hand, lets them charge at enemies with two deadly Strand blades, making it almost impossible for them to be stopped. This can be used with the Titan feature in Into The Fray to give players extra safety for their friends and speed up their own fighting so they can go to the front lines.
Titan: Sentinel
The Sentinel subclass makes it easier for Titans to do their job as the front line defense for their fireteam. The Titan class is great for people who want to do this. For quick groups of enemies to be executed, the Sentinel Shield super is great. The Banner Shield super protects the player’s fireteam and increases their power.
The Sentinel subclass also has access to Voidwall and silencer bombs, which can be used to keep enemies away and stop enemies who are really annoying from using their skills.
Titan: Striker
The Striker subclass is great at getting rid of big groups of enemies, just like the Sentinel subclass. Titans with the Striker specialty can use the Fist of Havoc super to release arc energy and slam into the ground. This can be very dangerous for the Crucible in the right hands. The Thundercrash super isn’t as useful, but if you learn where to fall, it can be more useful.
Lightning and pulse bombs are great tools for the Striker character for keeping enemies away and making safe zones for the player’s fireteam. You can also use flashbang bombs, but they aren’t as useful. But a flashbang bomb will help you get an enemy off balance if you need to.
Titan: Sunbreaker
The Titan’s solar subclass is the Sunbreaker, but it’s not used very often. With the Hammer of Sol super, players can throw burning hammers at their enemies. The hammers explode when they hit their targets, causing huge solar damage to anyone who gets hit. It helps you get a lot of strikes in the Crucible. Titan’s hammer is much bigger with the Burning Maul super, but it has less range.
It fits with the solar theme that the Sunbreaker type can use both explosive and thermite bombs, which hurt the sun. When players equip the Sunbreaker trait, they can also use fusion grenades. These are sticky bombs that do extra damage to targets they stick to.
Titan: Behemoth
The goal of most Stasis versions is to take over the fight by slowing down or stopping enemies. This makes the Behemoth type of Titan very useful in Crucible, where a player can freeze their opponent before land the final hit.
This is helped by Glacial Quake’s Super, which lets the Titan charge up an attack to do more damage while stopping all enemies nearby. Some abilities, like Diamond Lance, let players do more damage while in stasis. This is because defeating an enemy with a stasis ability calls up the Lance, which can then be used to quickly stop another enemy.
Hunter: Threadrunner
Threadrunners can easily tear through the battlefield when they use Silkstrike, just like Bladefury Super of a Titan can when they use Strand. This lets Hunter players be more bold on the battlefield and easily defeat enemies.
Hunters will gain a lot from the Strand subclass’s Grapple bomb because it will make it easy for them to move around both Crucible maps and get away from danger during Vanguard Operations and other tasks. Threaded Spike’s close attacks keep getting stronger, and it can hit multiple enemies at once as it bounces from one to the next before coming back to the player.
Hunter: Gunslinger
Because it can do so many things, the Gunslinger subclass is the best Hunter subclass. One of the best in Survivor IO is the Golden Gun sub. A whole team can be wiped out by it in the Crucible, and bosses in strikes and raids take a lot of damage from it. Blade Barrage is a powerful super that can easily get players out of any tough spot by blocking enemy supers or making room for other players in PvE.
Also, the bombs are some of the best in their class. As with the Sunbreaker Titan subclass, the Gunslinger gets bombs that start fires. They also get a tripmine grenade that can be used as a trap in the Crucible. When swarm grenades hit their target, they break up into many small tracking missiles that do a lot of damage if they all hit the same target. Because they can throw knives, this class has one of the most different sets of weapons in the game.
Hunter: Revenant
Hunters who use Stasis might have one of the best superpowers of the three classes. Players can aim their dangerous Ice Picks at enemies to deal direct damage with Silence and Squall. It also has an area of effect that will freeze and slow enemies who get stuck in it.
Hunters can improve all of their Stasis grenades by using the Aspect Touch of Winter. This makes using grenades like Duskfield more important because the Aspect makes the slow effect spread further and creates Stasis Crystals when they hit.
Hunter: Arcstrider
Arcstriders are more good at controlling crowds than hitting accurately. The Arc stick gives Hunters a stick filled with arc energy that is great for destroying big groups of enemies. Whirlwind Guard is a super that lets Arcstriders be more defensive. It lets them quickly spin the Arc Staff to deflect attacks.
Other than skip grenades, the Arcstrider subclass’s grenades aren’t very special. However, when paired with Shinobu’s Vow Exotic armor, they can become very strong.
Hunter: Nightstalker
This category is for Hunters who like to stay hidden. A void bow is used by the Shadowshot super to tie foes down and weaken and slow them down. It also stops enemy supers from working in PvP, which is a bonus. Hunters can become invisible with the Spectral Blades super and easily destroy enemies with their dual blades.
Nightstalkers have a lot of ways to zone out enemies and gain strategic benefits with weapons like vortex, spike, and Voidwall. If things get dangerous, Nightstalkers can also throw a smoke bomb and hide for a short time.
Warlock: Broodweaver
Strand on Warlocks is very helpful for players who have to deal with ads on PvE tasks. With the right build and an exotic like Swarmers, enemies won’t have many chances to attack.
First, the Super Needlestorm shoots needles of thread that stick to enemies and burst into Threadlings that look for other enemies to attack. This is sure to eliminate a lot of them. Both Aspects of the Warlock are still very dangerous, and Mindspun Invocation lets players absorb their Shackle Grenade, which lets them hang enemies around them in the air after dispatching one.
Warlock: Dawnblade
The Warlock solar subclass and the Titan solar subclass both have supers that shoot solar missiles at enemies, but that’s about all they have in common. When Warlocks use the Daybreak super, they can call up a sun sword and fly through the air, shooting fire at their enemies from far away. The Well of Radiance is a support super that makes a hole in the ground that heals teammates quickly and increases their power.
The Dawnblade subclass uses sun grenades, which do damage over time in a certain area, and firebolt grenades, which hit foes with projectiles that move toward them and lock on to them. The Titan Striker subclass can use the same fusion weapons as the Dawnblade subclass.
Warlock: Voidwalker
What Warlocks need is the Voidwalker subclass to use the void. Every Voidwalker has access to the Nova Bomb super, which is very strong in both PvE and PvP. It throws an explosive bomb of void energy at enemies, destroying those who get caught in its blast radius. Warlocks can travel short distances and explode in a burst of energy every time they use the Void Warp super. It is very powerful in PvP.
Voidwalkers can use vortex grenades and axion bolts, which are like the sun and firebolt grenades of the Dawnblade subclass. However, scatter grenades are completely different; when they hit something, they break up into smaller bombs that cover a big area.
Warlock: Stormcaller
Stormcaller might be the best Warlock type, mostly because of its powerful abilities. During Stormtrance, Warlocks can float around the battlefield and use personal lightning to stun enemies. A super fire from the Chaos Reach sends out a strong long-range beam of arc energy that breaks down everything in its path.
Stormcallers have arcbolt and pulse weapons that they can use to damage small areas. When they hit, storm grenades are different because they can cause a small lightning storm. However, it depends on where they land if they work or not.
Warlock: Shadebinder
There are some good things about being a Stasis Warlock when you use the power of darkness, even though they may seem weak. Winter’s Wrath’s Warlock super lets players shoot ice at enemies, which freezes them. During this time, they can use a physical attack that does a lot of damage to all frozen targets.
Warlocks have grenades that are similar to the others, but they also have an interesting Aspect called Bleak Watcher that turns their bomb into a Stasis Turret. This might not seem like the coolest ability, but it can really get in the way of some opponents.
Best Overall: Striker
It’s strange that players still prefer the older classes they know, even though Destiny 2 recently got some new subclasses like Strand and Stasis. The Arc Titan type is one of the best and has been doing very well in both PvE and PvP.
Since the 3.0 update, this subclass has become better and clearer, but it still has the power to eliminate a single target with a huge amount of damage. This danger follows you into Crucible, where Striker’s quick charge times and ability to boost its bombs make it a popular choice.
