Shooters let players practice their shooting skills and have fun all at the same time. Put your shooting skills to the test with these great sniper games!
In military games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, the single-player mode lets you play as a soldier and is fun and dramatic. But these games are like fast-paced Michael Bay movies that don’t take much thought or patience. The sneaky shooter type is the exact opposite of run-and-gun games like DOOM and movie shooters.
These games not only reward players for being patient, quick on their feet, and sneaky, but the way missions are set up can often give players a wider range of experiences. For fans of the genre, shooting enemies from a hidden location and getting away without being seen is a thrilling experience.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
One of the best-looking and well-made spy games out there is Splinter Cell: Blacklist. People who play as Sam Fisher become expert special operations soldiers who may eliminate enemies in a number of different ways. Most of the time, players use his hand-to-hand attacks and silent gun to eliminate enemies, but there are also times when shooting is a good idea, like on the Opium Farm quest.
Sam may eliminate enemies from a distance with both deadly and non-lethal weapons while staying quiet and finishing his tasks. Blacklist is still one of the most beautiful games in its genre, with beautiful graphics and smart AI that is hard to beat. When the levels get harder, every takedown feels good.
Starfield
Starfield is a science fantasy role-playing game that was released as one of the biggest exclusives for the Xbox Series X/S. It works a lot like Bethesda’s other games in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. As assumed, Starfield lets players play in different ways and defeat enemies in different ways. But destroying enemies by sneaking up on them and shooting them is the most rewarding way to fight.
When a player puts skill points into Stealth, Marksmanship, Sharpshooting, and Sniper Certification, their character becomes a very dangerous enemy in Starfield. People will feel like hunters from the Aliens movies, though, if they add the Chameleon trait through skills or a mirrored space suit.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an action role-playing game with a cyborg theme that lets the player choose how they want to play. But Deus Ex is best when you can sneak up on enemies to eliminate them with a scoped weapon.
There are some tasks that take place inside, but the rooms are pretty big, and there are a lot of enemies that the player must dispose of carefully. If players want to use a deadly or non-lethal strategy, Deus Ex has the right tools for the job.
Crysis Remastered
When it came out in 2007, Crysis was the benchmark for graphics speed. You needed a very expensive PC to get it to work at a good enough level. Thank goodness that’s not the case anymore, and it works great on computers from last generation. When compared to newer games like Far Cry 6, it still looks good.
Like the Far Cry games, Crysis is at its best when players use the main character’s super suit to sneak up on enemies to eliminate them. Because the enemy soldier is aware of what’s going on in the fight, the shooting is better and more rewarding.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas
Rainbow Six Siege is a popular online shooter right now, but it’s nothing like the original game, and it’s even less like the original game when you add in Rainbow Six: Extraction, which has aliens. There isn’t a story mode for one person. Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 was the last game with a real story mode and strong multiplayer.
When you play as a member of a special tactical team from the Tom Clancy books, you may dispatch bad guys and terrorists from a long distance. It’s very satisfying to get a hit with night vision or thermal scopes. It’s possible that the Rainbow Six Vegas games are more satisfying and fun than the spinoffs that only let you play with other people.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
The single-player story mode was kept in the Ghost Recon games, but not in Rainbow Six. Players can work together with friends or against an AI team. The series, on the other hand, loses the focus of the Advanced Warfighter series because it has a huge, empty open world.
Many people think that Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 is the best game in the series because of how well it handles tactical fighting in cities. The sneaky features are fun to use. Using night vision and a sniper gun to dispatch enemies in silence at night feels amazing. The player feels like they are part of a special team when they destroy enemies one by one in a fierce fight.
Far Cry 6
When it came out in 2021, Far Cry 6 was called “more of the same,” but in many ways, it was the best parts of all the Far Cry games put together in one game. Many annoying parts were taken out and simplified to make the experience better.
It also has the best versions of sneaking and shooter features in the series. Most of the guns in the game can be changed and improved to look like sniper rifles. Dedicated sniper weapons have strengths and flaws that can be used against them. Guns feel different and special because of this, giving them a sense of weight and feel.
Hitman VR
Hitman 3 for PS4 came out at the same time, and PSVR users could play it with their gear. The VR version doesn’t skimp on anything, and the open world is still a place where players can put their plans and schemes into action.
It feels more real than ever to use guns like the sniper rifle, which makes the player feel even more like a spy. Moving around can feel awkward, but shooting targets in VR is a great experience.
Sniper Elite VR
People who play Sniper Elite VR go back to Italy, where the fourth game in the series takes place. Players are taking part as members of the Italian Resistance this time. The story is about as interesting as a B-movie plot, but the action, open levels, and shooter features are great.
The VR version of Sniper Elite feels more like an arcade game than the console version because it rewards players for being creative and shooting in a beautiful way. The most important thing is that anyone can handle the gun naturally and enjoyably. The Aim Controller is also helpful for PSVR users because it adds a level of realism that is almost unmatched.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 has gotten a lot of bad press for having problems when it first came out. People who can stand the bugs, on the other hand, can enjoy the brutal battle system and truly unique weapons.
Many players think that sniper guns are some of the best tools in the game. They let players get through the game more quietly. For example, the Breakthrough sniper weapon can shoot through concrete walls. The Ashura Smart sniper even fires guided rockets that can automatically look for targets and hit them in the head.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is a great example of how great a game can be when the people who made it support it and listen to what fans have to say after it had problems at launch. Now, Battlefront 2 is a game that Star Wars fans keep coming back to for the online mode, but the single-player mode is also good enough to play.
In Battlefront 2, the sniper guns are some of the coolest weapons. They only appear in the world of Star Wars. Getting good at sniper rifles will make you a powerful player in both the single-player and online modes.
Battlefield 5
Battlefield 5 is a beautiful first-person shooter set in the Second World War. It was made by the same people who made the Star Wars: Battlefront series. The single-player game is one of the gang’s best. But, as always, the online is where the depth is.
Since the maps are big and there are usually a lot of other people fighting, it’s fun to use a sniper gun to dispatch them. It takes a lot of practice to be good at using a sniper gun in battle, but once you do, any player can be a major threat, especially in Firestorm, Battlefield 5’s Battle Royale mode.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes was a prequel to The Phantom Pain that could be played on its own. It was much shorter than the main game. But for many series fans, Ground Zeroes is the best spy game because it has more focused tasks and can be played again and again.
This is shown even more in the way shooting works in the game and how you can watch enemies through the scope while it’s pouring rain. Fans of Metal Gear loved how watching the enemy forces do their jobs and talk to each other made them feel more real.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
The Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 all got Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 in 2017. A lot of bugs and glitches made it hard to play when it first came out. It’s an open-world game. Ghost Warrior 3 is now a better game thanks to some work from the creators.
The plot reads like a straight-to-DVD follow-up to the Sniper movies starring Tom Berenger and Billy Zane. Luckily, the story is told through the games. The shooting is the best part of the game, and the modern jungle setting made possible by the powerful CryEngine is truly stunning.
GoldenEye 007
Goldeneye 007 was made by Rare and came out in 1997 only for the Nintendo 64. Players take on the role of James Bond in this game, which is based on the movie of the same name. It was one of the first big games on current platforms to use sneaking elements.
One of the first guns added to Goldeneye’s stealth system was the sniper rifle. It was still one of the most exciting guns in the game, and shooting foes from a secret location made players feel strong, which is how you should feel when doing something like that.
Far Cry 5
In 2018, Far Cry 5 came out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. All kinds of games have always been able to work with the title. If you have to choose between running and shooting and being quiet and sneaky, being sneaky is by far the most enjoyable and rewarding.
It goes without saying that Far Cry 5’s shooting mode is one of the best Ubisoft games ever made. The AR-CL is one of the best sniper guns and weapons for general use. Once the player gets a scope and silencer, the AR-CL will be one of their main weapons.
Sniper Elite V2: Remastered
Rebellion Developments released the first Sniper Elite V2 in 2012. It was a straight follow-up to Sniper Elite, which took place during World War II. The second game is set during the Battle of Berlin in 1945, and the player is an American Sniper. The remake has better graphics, faster frame rates, and more figures from the 2019 Nazi Zombie Army DLC.
When compared to AAA military spy games like Metal Gear Solid 5, the Sniper Elite games are very cheap. But the sneaking and shooting features are some of the best in the series. The biggest difference is that the player can only use old weapons, while Solid Snake or Sam Fisher would use highly advanced equipment. Instead of using weapons that are quiet, players need to time their shots with noises and distractions in the surroundings to hide their gunshots.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
PS4, Xbox One, and PC users could get Ghost Recon: Wildlands in 2017. Ubisoft made it. This is the same company that made the Far Cry, Splinter Cell, and Rainbow Six games. Doodle Jump really shows how much experience they have with open-world games that have sneaking and shooting elements.
Wildlands has parts from other Ubisoft games thrown together in one game, making it feel like a best hits collection. While some parts don’t work perfectly, the shooting and sneaking parts are great, and it’s very exciting to destroy enemy forces from afar.
Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts
Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts, which came out in 2019, is the fourth game in the series. The game can be played on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Unlike its predecessors, which had open worlds, this one has missions.
Even though the tasks are more focused, they are still meant to be semi-open and give players a lot of freedom in how they approach goals. Because of how accurate the bullets are and how precise and timed you have to be, Contracts is one of the hardest sniper games you can play.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
When it came out in 2019, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint got a lot of bad reviews because it had bugs and not as many features as the games that came before it. But as a game, it got better with fixes, updates, and story-based DLC.
With sniper weapons, the vast, open areas offer great chances for eliminating enemies in all kinds of weather and terrain. Fans of this kind of gear can choose from a wide range of sniper weapons, scopes, and other changes.
Sniper Elite 3
Sniper Elite 3 came out in 2014 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360. While still taking place during World War II, this story takes place three years before the events of Sniper Elite V2.
The story takes place during the war in North Africa, and the settings are less linear than in the previous books. For players, this means that there are more ways to get close to their goals. The slow-motion Kill Cam is even more graphic, with X-rays that look like they belong in Mortal Kombat and show bones breaking and organs being wiped out.
Hitman 2
Hitman 2 is the second game in the Hitman Trilogy. It came out in 2018. The second opening gives you the best chances to snipe in a city setting. It has both the main game, which has great shooting chances, and tasks that are just for Sniper Assassin and play like a different game.
Agent 47 can get rid of his targets and make distractions and gaps in these tasks in a lot of creative ways. It’s not a strict shooting game like the Ghost Warrior series, but it’s a lot of fun and has a lot of depth and repeat value.
Sniper Elite 4
This game, Sniper Elite 4, came out in 2017 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Once more, it takes place during World War II. This game finally took the series to a new level by adding bigger open-world settings where you can snipe targets in creative and fun ways.
Even though Sniper Elite 4 didn’t have as much money as Metal Gear Solid, it’s still one of the most daring games in the series and a lot of fun to play. It looks just as good as Sniper Elite 5, and the open-ended missions and shooting mechanics are just as good as those in the Hitman series.
Hitman 3
Like the other games in the Hitman World of Assassination series, Hitman 3‘s maps are big, deadly sandboxes where Agent 47 can play. This means that players have what seems like an infinite number of options and chances of harming their targets.
For example, players can use a sniper gun on different maps to set up great viewing points that need to be found and used. When using a sniper gun, sometimes the best way to get close to your target is to watch them and wait for the right time to make holes and delays.
Sniper Elite 5
These Sniper Elite games have always been the best in the shooting and sneaking field. Sniper Elite 5 goes even further by adding to and improving on the great first game. The images are better than ever, and the open worlds feel more real.
More importantly, Sniper Elite 5 gives players a huge number of chances to take out their targets with a sniper gun. Players can complete tasks in a way that suits them, using strategy or raw force, and the game’s environments are just as varied as those in the Hitman series.
