After failing to score big in his first three matches, Harry Brook finally lit up the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) by winning a brilliant century for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Brook ruined the KKR party by hitting 12 fours and three sixes in a 55-ball 100 that took SRH to 228/4. Brook described it as a “special night” and said that “this beat definitely stands above” my other best performances. After SRH’s 23 win over KKR at Eden Gardens, Brook was spotted tasting local delicacies.
In a video released by SRH, Brook is seen eating rasgulla with his face covered in cake.

England’s first leg was backed up by a powerful strike from Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram (50) and Abhishek Sharma (32), who tied two key half-century partnerships with Brook.
West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell was Calcutta’s most efficient bowler and won 3-22 before he retired due to injury concerns early in his third over.
Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarty took the only other wicket in Hyderabad, while New Zealander Loki Ferguson was the most expensive bowler in Kolkata and conceded 37 runs in two overs.
Kolkata got off to the worst possible start after Afghan rookie Rahmanullah Gurbaz lost to Indian veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first over of the chase.
South African Marco Jansen sent Venkatesh Iyer (10) and Sunil Narine (0) off consecutive balls before Rana stabilized the serve with first man Narayan Jagadisan (36).
Rana scored 41-75 before falling to Tee Natarajan in a spirited game with new Calcutta hero Rinku Singh.
Singh, who blasted five sixes from his last five balls to help Calcutta stun the champion Gujarat Titans in Sunday’s IPL thriller, hit an undefeated 31 58 with four fours and four sixes.
Hyderabad players Kumar, Jansen, Natarajan and Umran Malik shared five wickets, with spinner Mayank Markande finishing 2–27.
Bowlers from Kolkata could have limited Hyderabad to a lower score, skipper Rana said after the match.
