Dani Alves, accused of raping a 23-year-old girl in December, at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona, will testify again next Monday before the judge who will investigate his case in the Third Section of the Barcelona Court. As reported by Cadena SER, and as sources close to the case have confirmed to EL PAÍS, the former Barça player appeared before the magistrate who investigated the case “at his own request”, since all investigated can testify as many times as they want before the judge, as stipulated by law.
The footballer will present his version of the events after he came to offer three different versions of what happened on his first occasion. He began by denying that he even knew the 23-year-old girl, later saying that she gave him consensual fellatio. In addition, there is biological evidence – such as semen found in the woman’s genital area and which corresponds to Alves’ DNA – that give his story even more veracity.
After three months in pretrial detention at Brians 2, the footballer’s new statement comes almost half a month after the young woman who made the statement filed an appeal before the investigating judge. In the text, he refused to be examined by the private psychologist proposed by the defense of the former FC Barcelona player to determine if his relationship and his symptoms are compatible with sexual assault. For his part, the victim has remained firm in his version since the events were committed.
